Mill Creek Healing Park

The Mill Creek Healing Park (MCHP) project aims to transform an underutilized, publicly-owned green space in Edmonton into a place where the community can gather and grow food.

The MCHP will support:

  • Improved urban biodiversity through re-naturalization efforts

  • Community-building and reconnection with the land

  • Food growing knowledge & skills that build food sovereignty

  • Strengthened mental & physical wellbeing

  • And, a long-term home for the the NGM Garden Club!

The Mill Creek Healing Park is in an ideal location, not only because of its physical landscape, but also for the possibilities it offers to our community. Nestled into the Mill Creek Ravine, the area provides a rich natural environment where native plants and food forests can flourish, creating a foundation for ecological restoration and sustainability. Just as importantly, it holds the potential to become a meaningful gathering place for the four surrounding neighbourhoods—a space where community connections can grow and deepen. At the heart of this vision is a commitment to supporting and working alongside Indigenous neighbours in creating a space that fosters healing, traditional food practices, and reconciliation.

Our team would love to hear your thoughts about the future of a permanent park space and home for the NGM Garden Club. Please complete our survey to help us build a better park space together!
